One Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 performer felt confident enough that the RPG would be a success that they bet someone at the game’s publisher 33 baguettes that it would sell 1 million copies in a week. That ended up happening, and now the voice actor, Aliona Baranova, wants her bread.
At Emerald City Comic Con 2026, Baranova said she “knew” that Expedition 33 would be a hit. She raised the stakes, too, with a bread bet.
“I made a bet with someone called Jack who’s on the Kepler [Interactive] publishing team that it would sell a million copies in the first week. I made a bet and the bet was to win 33 baguettes. Jack, where are my baguettes?” she said, as reported by GamesRadar.

It’s great to see such confidence in a project! Betting on the success of a game like Expedition 33 with something as fun as baguettes adds a light-hearted touch. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds!
Absolutely, itβs always inspiring to see that level of belief in a creative endeavor! Plus, the unique blend of storytelling and gameplay in Expedition 33 really sets it apart in the RPG genre, which might contribute to its potential success.
I completely agree! That kind of confidence can really motivate a team and elevate a project. It’s fascinating how the unique elements of the RPG, like its storytelling and character development, can resonate so much with players, contributing to its potential success.
Absolutely! Confidence can create a positive atmosphere that encourages creativity and collaboration. It’s interesting to think about how such bets might inspire not just the cast but also the developers and fans alike.
