Exclusive preview: Usagi Yojimbo gets a new writer, artist, and setting

Usagi Yojimbo has gone through many forms since creator Stan Sakai launched the title in the late 1980s. The series’ signature character, samurai rabbit Miyamoto Usagi, has battled his way across Edo-period Japan for decades, and hopped out of his own setting to team up with the Teenage Mutant Turtles in comics and multiple animated series. One descendant of his, Yuichi Usagi, starred in the animated Netflix series Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles, set in 26th-century Japan, while another attenuated family member is at the center of the Space Usagi series, a far-future science fiction comic.
