As we await The Game Awards 2025, Double Fine Productions and iam8bit hosted the Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition Digital Showcase 2025 across YouTube and Twitch, presenting many amazing indie games for fans to anticipate. With many aspiring and beloved developers and publishers joining in, this showcase features 22 upcoming games, including seven world premieres.Â
Founded in 2012 by Double Fine Productions and iam8bit, Day of the Devs has presented hundreds of games throughout its in-person and virtual showcases, celebrating the creativity, diversity, and magic of video games as a non-profit organization. Alongside announcing many video games, Day of the Devs helps connect upcoming developers with players through their games.

AWAYSIS
Kicking off the Days of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition Digital Showcase 2025, the first title to be revealed is AWAYSIS, an ultimate dungeon brawler. Featuring a chaotic physics system, embark on an adventure to climb the floating mountain to save the world, from gathering gears at the mystical temple to fighting the Dark Lord of Darkness. Not to mention, the beloved video game artist Hip Tanaka, known for working on Metroid and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, brings his musical talent to the upcoming game. AWAYSIS is coming soon on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox for PC.
Lucid Falls
Developed by Eldamar Studio, fight for survival in surreal and horrifying worlds in Lucid Falls. With many secrets waiting to be uncovered, players must fight terrifying monsters, shift gravity to navigate through impossible spaces, and solve reality-bending challenges. Lucid Falls is set to launch on Steam in 2026.Â
ROCKBEASTS
Set in the United States during the 90s with the rise of MTV, rock anthems, and questionable haircuts, lead a band of misfits to reach the top in the upcoming title, ROCKBEASTS. As a manager, players must make wise decisions if they wish to become famous, including selecting the right venue, preparing sets according to plans, and building a bond with their members. However, the choices they make can impact the relationship, and throughout the game, their band members will change. Developed by Lichthund and published by Team17, ROCKBEAST launches soon on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.Â
Stretchmancer
Inspired by 90s Saturday morning cartoons, take on the role of Stretchmancer, a frog who must defeat the Claustro Empire to save the galaxy by squashing and stretching their surroundings. With the power of stretch, overcome obstacles by simply stretching and squishing your surroundings, and meet many characters throughout your adventure, whether allies, foes, or still questioning their allegiance. Developed by Triangle Wave and published by offbrand games, Stretchmancer launches on Steam soon.Â
Virtue and a Sledgehammer
Instead of going to therapy, how about causing havoc with a sledgehammer? Developed by Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour, and published by Devolver, Virtue and a Sledgehammer is set in a ghost town, taking on the role of a mysterious character bringing down the city and the many robots they encounter to uncover the memories of their past. Releasing in 2026, Virtue and a Sledgehammer is available to wishlist on Steam.Â
Beastro
As a young and talented chef named Panko, players assist a local restaurant in the village of Palo Pori, known for its artisans and tastemakers, to feed the townsfolk. However, monsters have claimed the land, threatening to destroy what little hope and happiness remain in the village. Luckily, the Caretakers have arrived to save the world, and it will be up to the Panko to serve them. Depending on the ingredients used, players will unlock cards to expand their deck as they battle monsters in turn-based, deck-building combat. Developed by Timberline Studio, Beastro is coming soon to Steam.Â
Un:Me
Presented by Historia and Shueisha Games as a world premiere during the Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition Digital Showcase 2025, step into Un:Me as a mysterious girl possessing multiple human souls, each possessing a unique personality, fears, and anxiety. During the daring journey, players will communicate with each soul, and must eliminate the souls they deem false if they wish to save her one true soul. But they must be careful, as they could remove her true soul if they don’t think wisely. Un:Me is available on Steam to wishlist.Â
SOUNDGRASS
Developed by Soundgrass Studios, embark on a planet of sound in the upcoming title, SOUNDGRASS. With sound as the core gameplay mechanic, an alien civilization is harvesting the sounds of the planets, and it’s up to the players to navigate and solve puzzles using their Sphere of Sound and Sphere of Light. The story explores themes of life, death, duality, and consciousness. SOUNDGRASS is currently in development for PC via Steam.Â
The Dungeon ExperienceÂ
The Dungeon Experience is a comedy first-person adventure, where players aim to achieve the greatest loot yet, Financial Freedom. Train under Raul the Crab, a once-low-level crustacean who owns the dungeon, helping players climb the ranks of a supportive, fast-growing pyramid-shaped community. Additionally, it will increase the player’s chance with their partner of choosing, whether it’s romantic, platonic, or George. Developed by BONE Assembly and published by Devolver, The Dungeon Experience launches on Steam in 2026, with a demo available now. Â
Scramble Knights Royale
Inspired by classic adventure titles, such as The Legend of Zelda, Scramble Knight Royale is a 32-player battle royale on islands with towns, dungeons, and quests. As players traverse the islands, they must gather loot, complete quests, and seek powerful weapons and armour to eliminate their foes if they wish to be crowned victorious. Developed by Funktronic Labs, Scramble Knights Royale launches on Steam and Xbox in 2026.
Mirria
Developed by Carl Burton and published by Magrafi, Mirria is a world premiere title announced during Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition Digital Showcase 2025. Stepping into the casual puzzle title, navigate through an odd, cryptic world, blurring the line between dream and reality. Utilizing their inspection skill and memory, discover the hidden anomalies between mirrored worlds. Mirria launches on Steam and consoles in 2026.
BIG HOPS
Kidnapped from his home by a mysterious spirit named Diss, take on the role of a young frog named Hop in the upcoming title, BIG HOPS, utilizing tongue-swing, free climb, and viggies to build their path. While getting roped into Diss’s strange job, help Hop escape his grasp and return to his family by gathering Airship Parts scattered across the Red Desert, the Open Ocean, and Shattered Mountain. DogpileÂ
Who doesn’t love dogs? For those that do, Dogpile is a roguelike deck builder about merging small dogs into a bigger dog. With their collection of dog cards, players can customize, upgrade, and build a perfect deck as they strive to achieve the biggest dogs. Additionally, dogs have quirks and hidden potentials, with the chance to add more traits by taking them to a Dog Wash and collecting the Dog Tags to benefit from Trait synergy. Developed by Studio Folly, Toot Games, and Foot, and published by WINGS, Dogpile is coming soon on Steam.Â
Unshine Arcade
Stuck in an abandoned arcade, Unshine Arcade invites players to play an arcade cabinet as a frog in a UFO, fighting alien bugs as they collect tickets to free a mysterious virtual pet from its prize cabinet. With the arcade cabinet combining action-roguelite and stealth-shooter gameplay, players can unlock upgrades in the form of a gacha ball to help them progress even further with the tickets they won, and slowly unveil the (S)Unshine Arcade’s dark past as they try to set the virtual pet and themselves free. Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth
Celebrating the 80th anniversary of Tove Jansson’s beloved Moomin series and based on the Moominland Midwinter, Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth follows Moomintroll waking up early from his winter hibernation and embarking on a chilly adventure to become more independent and build a friendship with his neighbours to help stop Lady of the Cold seizing control across the land. During the Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition Digital Showcase 2025, Hyper Games has released a demo on Steam today, focusing on Moomintroll helping a dog named Sorry-oo, who thinks he’s a wolf.
Demon Tides
Demon Tides follows Beebz and her crew, travelling the oceans of Ragnar’s Rock on a journey of self-discovery. As the crew dashes across the oceans and jumps across various platforms to uncover the secrets that lie within the world, they can collect over 50 talismans to modify or expand their abilities, collect customizable outfits, and compete for the best completion time in each locale as they race against the player’s ghost. Additionally, players can create and share graffiti across other players’ worlds. Developed by Fabraz, Demon Tides launches on Steam on February 19, 2026, with a demo available now.Â
Frog Sqwad
In the name of the Swamp King, Frog Sqwad invites up to eight players to storm the ever-changing sewer as frogs, filled with hazards and weird creatures, to meet their quotas before they become the Swamp King’s next meal. Throughout the missions, players can use their sticky tongue to swing from pipes, solve physics puzzles, mess around with their friends, and eat enough food to become a rolling megafrog. However, to meet the never-ending quotas, players can spend their gold from successful runs on new physics toys and gadgets to assist their future runs. Developed by Panic Stations, Frog Sqwad launches on Steam in 2026.Â
Astromine
Explore the galaxy of Astromine by landing and exploring many destructible, procedurally generated Voxel planets. Each planet features unique terrain, resources, and hazards as players battle alien creatures, build structures and spaceships to travel across the planets, and engage in Robot vs. Robot warfare to conquer the solar system. Not to mention, every material has real physical properties, from wood burning and collapsing under stress to electricity powering the networks. Developed by Alientrap, Astromine launches on Steam in 2026.Â
Find Your Words
Created by two fathers to celebrate their kids’ journey of finding their voices using AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), Capybara Games’ upcoming title, Find Your Words, follows a non-speaking child on their first day at Camp Pals. With their trusty communication binder, players can collect and combine symbols to communicate with their new friends. Additionally, participate in various hobbies and activities, from showing off their dancing skills to playing hide-and-seek. The free-to-play and an optional supporter edition of Find Your Words launches on Steam in 2026. Â
Xcavator 2025
Before wrapping up the Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition Digital Showcase 2025, iam8bit announced its collaboration with the Video Game History Foundation to help release Xcavator 2025, originally programmed by Chris Oberth and developed by Incredible Technologies. Uniting Mega Cat Studios, Video Game History Foundation, and iam8bit, Xcavator 2025 is now fully playable on an NES cartridge. Launching in Q2 2026, the physical release of Xcavator 2025 will include the NES cartridge and a 14-page manual exploring the game’s history and the legacy of Chris Orbeth.
Pre-orders will be available for $100 starting today on the iam8bit website, with proceeds going toward the non-profit organization, Video Game History Foundation, to continue their goal of preserving and celebrating the many video games released.
