Electronic Arts is reportedly about to be privatized for $50 billion

Quite the big shakeup is reportedly about to take place for a key member of the gaming industry. The Wall Street Journal reports that Electronic Arts is about to be privatized.

The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund and investor Silver Lake are currently in talks with EA for a deal worth around $50 billion. Following this rumor, the American company’s stock price rose by almost 15%.

Electronic Arts has yet to publicly comment on the matter, but the deal could be made official as early as next week. If this happens, the publisher will no longer be listed on the stock market.
