It was quite unexpected, but Electronic Arts has decided not to release a new Formula 1 simulation next year. Instead of F1 26, an expansion will be created for F1 25.
This paid DLC will add all the cars, drivers, teams, and rules for the season, which will begin on March 8, 2026, with the Australian Grand Prix. The American publisher says it has opted for this approach in order to offer a complete overhaul of the franchise in 2027.
“The decision to offer a premium content update for F1® 25 is part of a strategic reset for the F1® Franchise. In 2027, a new game will be released that looks, feels, and plays differently, delivering more gameplay choices.”
The aim of F1 27 will therefore be to offer a renewed experience by introducing a new way of playing.
