An anonymous Reddit user by the name of voices38 claims that they have successfully cracked DOOM: The Dark Ages. The id Software FPS thus becomes the first title released in 2025 to have been cracked.
To achieve this, the user stated that they managed to bypass Denuvo, the well-known digital rights management software that has been heavily criticized for its impact on the performance of the games it is used on. Titles released last year had, until now, proven relatively resistant to piracy.
Finally, voices38 also teased that another game has suffered the same fate, stating that “the next one might surprise you”. Some users believe it could be Resident Evil Requiem.
