The Emperor’s New Groove is one of Disney’s more unique animated features — it’s one of the last films to be released during the Disney Renaissance, a time when the company cemented its reputation with timeless classics such as The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and more. But unlike its contemporaries, this film didn’t have Broadway musical montages or romance. Its aim was strictly to get laughs — packing as many as possible into its under-90-minute runtime.
