Back on October 3, Discord announced that one of its service providers had been the victim of a cyberattack. It seems that at the end of September, an unauthorized person managed to steal personal data.
These include names, usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, messages with customer service agents, and company data, as well as billing history, the last four digits of credit cards, and payment type.
We have also learned that the perpetrators of the attack recovered 1.5 TB of age verification photos, or exactly 2,185,151 images. The hackers are using this to cash in a ransom from Discord. However, the brand claims that it doesn’t store photos related to the age verification of its users.
