Back in October, emptyvessel released a first proper look at its 4v4v4v4 cyberpunk styled first person shooter DEFECT, in which The Systemโs Police Force, Rogue Police, or and different gangs all try to complete their own objectives while sabotaging the other teams. Now, emptyvessel has released the first story teaser for DEFECTโs single player mode.
In the description we get a small idea of what to expect with emptyvessel saying, โYou play a System Control Officer who has been marked deficient by The System, a godlike artificial intelligence that governs the world.โย The teaser tells us that this yet unnamed System Control Officer is trying to survive in a world where he is no longer seen as useful after providing his services to The System. In addition, emptyvessel also announced that NCSoft has joined as a partner to help develop the DEFECTโs single player mode.
A release date is yet to be confirmed for the game, with PC currently confirmed as the only platform with Steam Deck compatibility in the works. If you want to check out DEFECT ahead of its release you can sign up to a list to join future playtests, though these are yet to be dated.
