Cyberpunk 2077 players can now become Johnny Silverhand (kind of) thanks to this brand-new feature that is available to download for free. Happy days!
Despite its troublesome launch, Cyberpunk 2077 is without question one of the best sci-fi RPGs of the modern era, and ideally presents the term ‘Phoenix rising from the ashes’.
Whether it’s the mesmerising neon-lit sights of Night City, its diverse cast of NPCs, high-octane action or stories that will keep you hooked from start to finish, there’s plenty to keep you entertained in CD Projekt RED’s sci-fi offering.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an all-time great, now
Since its initial launch in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has been vastly improved by CDPR, not only with its visuals and performance on new-gen consoles, but a ton of quality-of-life improvements have been made. Not to mention, the introduction of its critically acclaimed expansion, Phantom Liberty.
“I really can’t say enough good things about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty,” said GAMINGbible alumni, Ewan Moore, in his review. “It fills me with joy to be able to report that this is a deeply ambitious expansion that fires on all cylinders and never delivers anything less than a stellar experience.
“CD Projekt RED is walking away from Cyberpunk 2077 in the best possible way, delivering on the game’s immense potential and dropping one final, unforgettable adventure.”
Aside from the fantastic content updates and expansion, the modding community can also be credited with breathing new life into Cyberpunk 2077, and in most cases, improving the game.
One such mod, which makes a somewhat subtle but fun change, is ‘Samurai Mode’, created by lorddarkflare, and best of all, it’s free to download right now via Nexusmods.

What is Samurai Mode, and what does it do?
Simply put, the ‘Samurai Mode’ turns your left arm into Johnny Silverhand’s cybernetic silver prosthetic arm when you trigger the Berserk, Overclock or Sandevistan abilities. However, even when the mod is installed, it won’t work until after the ‘Playing for Time’ quest.
Sadly, as is the nature of most mods, this is a PC exclusive and will not work on the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077. But that’s nothing new.
Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion, Phantom Liberty, are out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The base game is also available on PS4 and Xbox One, but you might still want to avoid those due to their poor performance.
