Five months since the release of Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the RPG has reached a new milestone – 5 million copies sold. The studio also shared that the game’s soundtrack, which was composed by Lorient Testard, has now hit 333 million track streams since release.
Free Update as a Thank You
To celebrate these new milestones for the game, the devs are working on a free update for the game that adds new content for more experienced players.
-
A new, playable environment, taking the characters of Expedition 33 to a brand-new location with new enemy encounters and surprises to discover.
-
Challenging, new boss battles for late-game players to overcome.
-
New costumes for each member of the Expedition, giving even more customization options for players throughout their adventure.
-
New text and UI game localizations into Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, bringing the total number of supported languages to 19.
-
And more to come…
This update will be the first time the game will receive post-launch content.
The devs probably can’t believe the success Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had achieved. Many were surprised at what they delivered, so was the rest of the world, as it surprised on various fronts. From its jaw-dropping art and visuals, its gripping story, to how satisfying it is to participate in the game’s turn-based combat, there’s so much to appreciate in this game.
Since I reviewed it, I instantly called it my Game of the Year, and that has stuck months after seeing the credits roll.
