Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Has Sold 5 Million Copies

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is getting a massive new update at some point, which adds a new location, bosses, and much more. Before that, Sandfall Interactive celebrates a new sales milestone: Five million sold worldwide, just five months after launch.

The last unofficial milestone was 4.4 million sales, announced last month by members of the development team. It’s also worth noting that composer Lorien Testard’s soundtrack has tipped 333 million track streams since launch. Considering how incredible it is (“Rain From the Ground” on repeat), it’s well-deserved.

For more details on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, check out our review. We gave it a nine out of ten, praising the art direction, turn-based combat, characters and storytelling. The experience has garnered extensive acclaim from not only critics but also other game developers, including Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann.

While nominations for The Game Awards aren’t yet available, the turn-based RPG has been nominated in six categories for the Golden Joystick Awards.
