Capcom has removed Denuvo from Resident Evil 4, adding Enigma DRM, which causes FPS drops

This week, Capcom decided to remove Denuvo from the PC version of the Resident Evil 4 Remake. This may seem like good news at first, but it hides something worse.

The Japanese publisher has replaced Denuvo with Enigma DRM, which significantly affects the game’s performance. Reports indicate frame rate drops ranging from 10 to 50% across all configurations. This effect is even more pronounced on Steam Deck.

Loading times are also longer, there is more stuttering, GPU usage is reduced, and general instability has been observed in the game. Let’s hope Capcom will fix these numerous issues.
