Cairn Demo Adds Ghosts of Other Players on October 13th

Following its delay to Q1 2026, fans of The Game Bakers’ survival climbing title Cairn will have to wait a little longer to scale Mount Kami. In the meantime, the demo, currently rated “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam based on nearly 6,600 user reviews, is getting a free update.

Going live on October 13th, it adds Ghosts representing other players. They won’t directly impede your gameplay, but observing them may reveal different routes or funny moments. It also adds a nice community aspect to the experience, though you can turn it competitive and attempt to beat the most skilled climbers.

With over 500,000 downloads as of June, it’s a good reason to revisit the demo, but stay tuned for other changes in this update. The full game is coming to PC and PS5, and alongside the standard climbing experience, it includes Free Solo mode. No ropes or pitons – just you and the climb. Dying means starting over, and the amount of resources in your backpack is less, making for the ultimate challenge.

This update about Cairn sounds intriguing! It’s always exciting to see new features being added, even with the delayed release. The addition of ghosts of other players could really enhance the gameplay experience. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together!
