The closure Bluepoint Games has been the subject of much discussion recently. We’ve got plenty of reports published about it so far, and there’s one significant detail that has emerged from it all… The studio was close to producing a remake of Bloodborne.
The project was apparently proposed to Sony on several occasions, but unfortunately never came to fruition. The main reason for this was that FromSoftware, the developer of the original game, blocked it. Although PlayStation owned the rights, it apparently sided with the Japanese studio so as not to damage its relationship with them.
Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has made a new revelation on this subject. He stated that Bluepoint had proposed a remake or remaster of Bloodborne even before it joined PlayStation Studios in September 2021. While FromSoftware has always shown a certain disinterest in the game, Schreier believes this is because the studio prefers to focus on the licenses it owns the rights to.
