Sony‘s rolling out a new PS Plus discount offer worldwide to celebrate the Lunar New Year. In the U.S., new subscribers can grab a year of PS Plus Premium for as low as $99.99. A similar offer is available in other regions as well.

What Sony calls “new subscribers” can also be folks whose past membership ended a while ago. Unfortunately, there’s no way to get an official definition (and we don’t think there is one), so if you want to grab PS Plus Premium for $99.99, you can try your luck on the PS Plus webpage.
As for everyone else, a 12-month PS Plus Extra membership is up to 25% off for new subscribers. No Essential discounts are available, it seems.
However, existing Essential and Extra members can upgrade their memberships at a discount. Extra/Essential members can get up to 35% off when upgrading to Premium (or Deluxe in some regions), and Essential members who want to grab Extra can get up to 25% off.
The Lunar New Year discount isn’t a targeted offer as it’s advertised on regional PS Plus webpages worldwide. However, the percentage of discount you get may vary.
