If you’re looking to pick up a PS5 before Sony’s next price increase, here are the best deals and bundles available.
It’s been over five years since Sony’s PlayStation 5 launched in November 2020, and while technology usually dips in price over time, this console generation has only got more expensive.
Last week, Sony announced a £90 price increase across all PlayStation 5 models, including the PS5 Pro. This is technically the third price hike for the console in just over five years, after it previously jacked up the cost of the digital edition.
As of April 2, the PlayStation 5 digital edition, which doesn’t have a disc drive, will cost £519.99 in the UK. The standard disc edition is going up to £569.99, while the PS5 Pro, the most powerful in terms of specs, will be a whopping £789.99.
Sony has blamed these hikes on the ‘continued pressures in the global economic landscape’, but if you want to spit in the face of vague corporate reasoning, you’ve got two days (at the time of writing) to nab a PlayStation 5 before they get even more expensive.

In terms of the PS5 Pro, Argos and Smyths have the best deal at £639.99, which is £60 off the current standard price. You can also pick up a digital edition console at the former for less than £400.
Alternatively, if you’re looking to save a few pennies, Amazon sells refurbished second-hand PlayStation 5 consoles at a discount price. You can pick up a ‘renewed’ digital edition console for £359, or a console with a disc drive starting from £395 (although these prices do fluctuate).
There isn’t much in terms of bundles, but a deal at Smyths includes EA Sports FC 26 (although you can pick it up pretty cheap separately these days). The best option might be the console bundles which include an extra DualSense controller, as they rarely come down in price.
