Today, Sega announced that owners of its hit action game Yakuza 0 can upgrade to its upcoming Director’s Cut version for $14.99. As a result, the original version of the game will be delisted from the PlayStation Store and replaced with Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut.

When will Yakuza 0 be delisted?

In its statement regarding the delisting, Sega announced that the original PS4 version of Yakuza 0 will be delisted on December 8 at 8:30 a.m. PST. PlayStation players who purchase the game before that date and time will be able to continue to download and play the game.

It should be noted that Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut will replace Yakuza 0 in the Yakuza Complete Series digital bundle on the PS Store. Typically, this bundle includes Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered, and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is a new version of the critically acclaimed action game that was originally released in 2017. New features include the Red Light Raid online multiplayer mode, English dub, restored music, and improved performance. Perhaps the biggest and most controversial change are the new cutscenes.

When Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut releases on the PS Store, it will cost $49.99. Save data from the PS4 version will not carry over to the new PS5 version.

This does not seem to affect the current PS Store listings of Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2. Similar to the Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut upgrade, owners of the PS4 versions of these games will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version, but at a different price. Yakuza Kiwami can be upgraded for $1.99, while Yakuza Kiwami 2 can be upgraded for free.
