
It seems the rumors were true. Developer Rockstar Games announced its critically lauded and beloved 2010 open-world action adventure game Red Dead Redemption is getting a native PS5 port, which will take advantage of the current-gen PlayStation hardware.
When is the Red Dead Redemption PS5 release date?
Made in collaboration with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, PS5 players can expect this new version of Red Dead Redemption on December 2. Current owners of the PS4 version will be able to upgrade digitally for free. Additionally, players who were in the middle of a playthrough will be able to use their previous PS4 save data and begin playing right where they left off.

The PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption will include all the bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition, as well as its zombie expansion, Undead Nightmare. In terms of updates and enhancements, players can expect the game to run at a βsmoothβ 60 frames per second, improved visual quality, HDR support, and resolutions up to 4K.
For PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, Red Dead Redemption will be available on the Game Catalog on its release date.
When Red Dead Redemption was originally released in 2010, it was universally praised. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it received an average score of 95 across 96 critic reviews. Undead Nightmare received an average score of 87 across 49 critic reviews. In our review of the base game, we gave it a 10 out of 10.
