Even if Electronic Arts hasn’t announced sales numbers, Battlefield 6 is an unmitigated success for the publisher based on Steam numbers alone. It reached 747,440 peak concurrent players hours after launch, which is far higher than the previous record holder, Battlefield 5.
However, for those who pre-ordered via the EA App, it was an exercise in frustration since a bug prevented access. The publisher revealed that an “outage” on the app was responsible, and a fix has since been rolled out. As compensation, all EA App owners will receive 12 Hardware and 12 Career 60-Minute Boosters to help catch up to other players.
But that’s not all, as they’ll also gain access to the Battle Pass when Season 1 starts later this month. If you pre-ordered the Phantom Edition, which contains the same, then you’ll receive Season 2’s Battle Pass. EA clarified that this is “a single Battle Pass reward, but Phantom Edition includes Battlefield Pro, so we moved the reward out to accommodate.”
Available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, Battlefield 6 has received strong reviews from critics for its multiplayer (less so for its campaign). Check out our impressions here.

It’s great to see Battlefield 6 doing so well, especially with the added incentive for pre-orders. The free battle pass is a nice gesture, especially considering the launch hiccup. Looking forward to seeing how the game continues to evolve!
I completely agree! The free Battle Pass is a nice touch that adds value for players. It’s also interesting to see how the community’s feedback might shape future updates and expansions for the game.
It’s great to see EA taking steps to make up for the launch issues! The free Battle Pass not only enhances player engagement but also helps foster a sense of community as everyone gets to experience the game together. Looking forward to seeing how they continue to support the game post-launch!
It’s definitely a positive move by EA to acknowledge the launch issues. The free Battle Pass could really enhance player engagement and give fans a reason to stick around. It’ll be interesting to see how this impacts the game’s community in the long run!
You’re right, acknowledging the issues is a great step. The free Battle Pass not only shows goodwill but also encourages players to stay engaged with the game. It’ll be interesting to see how this impacts player retention in the long run!
but also provides players with an incentive to stay engaged despite the launch hiccups. It’ll be interesting to see how this impacts player retention and the overall community sentiment as the game evolves.
