Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Adds a Whole New Vampire Subclass

Baldur’s Gate 3 gets a mod that adds a whole new vampire subclass, more specifically, a vampire hunter subclass.

There have been very few games in recent years that have made quite the cultural impact like what Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 had in 2023. That being said, we have been blessed with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 this year, so that’s certainly a nice bonus.

In fact, fans of the RPG genre have been eating well over the last few years, not only with Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 but also with Elden Ring, Dragon’s Dogma II and Atomfall, to name a few.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is inspired by the legendary tabletop RPG, Dungeons & Dragons, where just about every move you make is determined by a roll of the dice, combining both skill and the suspense of luck. It also has some of the most fantastic cast of characters you’ll ever encounter in any video game.

We Scored Baldur’s Gate 3 a Perfect 10

“I have gleefully joined the ranks of Baldur’s Gate 3’s evangelical, and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” said GAMINGbible alumni, Ewan Moore, in his 2023 review.

“In a year groaning under the weight of so many exemplary games, it is frankly astounding to me how much taller Baldur’s Gate 3 looms over the rest of the pack. I’m not sure we’ll ever see anything quite like it again.”

However, just when you thought that Baldur’s Gate 3 couldn’t get any better, along comes the modding community to breathe new life into the game we love. The mod in question is called ‘Vampire Hunter Ranger Subclass’, created by KiwiLifter and is free to download now via Nexusmods.

The mod even adds gameplay elements such as consuming garlic to give you an advantage over undead enemies and a mirror to help detect creatures of that ilk. Oh, and of course, it even includes a stake as a weapon, and more.

Fans of Konami’s Castlevania series can also combine this mod with others created by KiwiLifter for that “Balmont experience”. Sadly, however, as is the case with most mods, this is a PC exclusive.

For the rest of us, we can still enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3 as intended on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Hopefully, this beloved RPG can keep us busy until the unannounced Baldur’s Gate 4 arrives, which will not be developed by Larian Studios.
