This week, Ubisoft appointed a trio to head up the Assassin’s Creed franchise. This shake-up was orchestrated with the aim of securing a bright future for the franchise. It also appears that a departure has been confirmed at the same time.
The Video Games Chronicle website reports that Clint Hocking has left his position as creative director on Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe. Jean Guesdon, who has been appointed content manager for the series, will take over on this title. In the past, he led the development of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Origins.
A Ubisoft spokesperson sent the following statement to VGC.
“We sincerely thank [Clint] for his vision, creative contributions, and dedication over the years, and we wish him the very best in his next chapter. Development on Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe continues with a seasoned team.
The game will deliver something distinctive within the Assassin’s Creed franchise,” it added. “We look forward to sharing more information in the future.”
Announced in 2022, this episode will have a more suspenseful atmosphere. It could take place in the heart of the Holy Roman Empire in 16th-century Central Europe.
