An alleged Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag leak has us questioning recent news regarding the rumoured remake.
Many fans of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series might consider 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to be the best game in the long-running franchise, and I wouldn’t argue against that.
To this day, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, in my opinion, is not only one of the best games in the series but it’s also the best pirate game. No game has ever made me live the pirate fantasy life quite like the swashbuckling adventures of Edward Kenway.
Sailing the seas with your motley crew on the Black Sparrow, hunting for treasures, taking in the sunny vistas, engaging in combat and uncovering more Templars shenanigans. Simply put, there’s a lot to love about Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.
An Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake Has Been Rumoured
Over the last year or so, especially, there have been tons of rumours claiming that Ubisoft has been developing a remake of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.
The most rumour claims that the remake was going to be announced next month, but following the mass Ubisoft cancellations, which include the troubled Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake announcement has been pushed back by up to a year.
Of course, this rumoured delay of the rumoured remake is disappointing to hear, but it’s always worth taking all unconfirmed speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, I hope in this case, there’s no smoke without fire.

A Collector’s Edition Leak May Validate the Rumours
As brought to our attention by Reddit user SnoopyTheDog_(via Legitimate_Cake_5137), images of a rather snazzy statue of Edward Kenway might suggest that Ubisoft was going to reveal a collector’s edition to accompany the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake.
In my opinion, and I could be completely wrong, as a collector of Assassin’s Creed memorabilia, I’m sceptical that this statue is for a collector’s edition to be bundled with the game.
The detail on the statue, and in particular the skull and crossbones flag, looks more detailed than pretty much all the Assassin’s Creed collector editions that I’ve picked up bundled with the game.
To me, it looks like something produced by PureArts or, at the very least, a standalone Ubicollectible, produced by Ubisoft and often sold on its website.
It also looks like it could be quite pricey, judging by the detail and size. Saying that, I’d love to have it alongside the statue from my Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Black Chest Edition.

“$399AUD and it doesn’t include the game, mark my words,” replied TAJack1.
“I’d have preferred Prince of Persia with a replica Dagger of Time,” exclaimed Robsonmonkey.
“What a cool bonus for a game that will never come out!” claimed GraveyardKoi.
If or when Ubisoft announces the rumoured Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake, we’ll be sure to let you know.
