Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders is out now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, fulfilling a multi-year journey that began before its 2021 reveal. And to no one’s surprise, it’s off to an incredible start on Steam, hitting 165,888 peak concurrent players at this time of writing. Its recent server slam nearly peaked at 190,000 concurrent players.
Its Steam rating is also safely on the side of “Very Positive” with 86 percent of the currently 1,531 user reviews giving it the thumbs-up. Thus far, there’s praise for the unpredictable gameplay, which is to be expected. A simple expedition in any map of the Rust Belt could go from a resource hunt to a desperate fight for your life against the ARC.
Maybe you’ll make some friends topside and cooperate, or maybe not. They may also betray you when least expected, so abuse that Free Loadout function as much as possible while slowly but surely improving your weaponry.
ARC Raiders launches with four maps: Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, The Spaceport, and Blue Gate. Each offers its own unique layouts and points of interest, though you’ll encounter much of the same dangerous ARC. There’s also Stella Montis in the pipeline, but no one knows what it offers or what horrors await.
