Aniimo Gets New Trailer Showcasing Some of its Magical Creatures, Beta Registrations Now Open

During Xbox’s showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2025, developer Pawprint Studio has revealed more details about its upcoming creature catching game Aniimo. Alongside the details, the studio has also released a new trailer, which you can check out below. The focus of Pawprint Studio’s showcase was to reveal more details about the game’s magical world of Idyll and the Aniimo that inhabit it.

While the trailer doesn’t really reveal much in terms of gameplay, it does give us a good idea of what kind of variety we can expect from the creature designs of Aniimo. The studio has revealed the names of some of the Aniimo we see in the trailer. Some of these were Stellarys, Helgon, Hellmut, the Electrical branch of the Ignitis family, as well as peaceful Aniimo like Skippy, Pranky and Glacy.

Along with this, the studio has also provided some details about the design decisions that went into creating these Aniimo. For example, Stellarys is one of the possible evolutions for Celestis that can only happen on rainy days. Uniquely adapting to the rain, a Stellarys has a special membrane that can store water, not only for its own consumption, but also for use in attacks as well. Stellarys also seemingly like to live alone.

Helgon and Helmuts, on the other hand, like provoking each other, which causes both of them to evolve in unique ways to cover up their weaknesses. Helmuts tend to evolve intto Rookguard, which can turn into a giant metal sphere to protect itself from Helgon. Some particularly courageous Helmuts can evolve into Pawney to then take on the Helgon family’s leader, Infregon.

Pawprint Studio has also confirmed that Aniimo will be getting another beta test, for which players can pre-register on the official website. Along with this, the developer has also noted that beta participants will get to check out some of the new creatures that were showcased in the trailer.

Aniimo was first announced back in June with a trailer that showed off not only its world, but also some gameplay as well. The creature collecting game largely revolves around exploring the world of Idyll, befriending the eponymous magical creatures, and often getting into fights where their unique abilities will then have to be used.

The player takes on the role of a Pathfinder in the open-world RPG. The world itself has been described as being expansive and interactive, with plenty of fun things for players to experience, including finding Aniimo just being themselves and living their best lives according to the various ecosystems they find themselves in.

When it comes to multiplayer, Aniimo is slated to feature support for PvE as well as PvP content. On the PvE side of things, players can team up to take on dungeons and solve ancient puzzles. While not too many details about the PvP have been confirmed so far, it will likely revolve around two players duelling with their teams of Aniimo.

Aniimo is slated for release in 2026, and is being developed for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
