The graphics card sector has been relatively tense for several months now. Sadly, this situation is not going to improve due to memory shortages. Prices areskyrocketing, and it will soon be difficult to buy a PC (or console) without blowing our budget.
However, NVIDIA seems to have kept a new model from its RTX 50 series up its sleeve. On X, the UNIKO’s Hardware account reported the existence of an RTX 5080 with 32 GB of VRAM. It was originally designed for cloud services, but the BIOS attached to the GPU accidentally ended up on the consumer market.
The RTX 5080 currently available for sale is equipped with 16 GB of VRAM. To be able to upgrade to 32 GB, it comes with a special printed circuit board that allows VRAM chips to be integrated on both sides.
It should also be noted that the RTX 4080 with 32 GB of VRAM already exists on the Chinese market. Thus, this RTX 5080 32 GB could arrive at the same time as the RTX 60 series, which will probably come out in early 2027.
