An analyst company believes the Switch 2 will get a price increase in 2026

Niko Partners, a market research and consumer insights firm, recently made its predictions for the current year. This relatively reliable company has made an analysis that is unlikely to please gamers.

It believes that Nintendo will increase the price of its Switch 2 in the coming months.

“The Nintendo Switch 2 is competitively priced compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series X, following price increases for these consoles last year.

But we believe the Switch 2 will follow in the footsteps of Sony and Microsoft with its own price increase, due to the impact of tariffs, rising memory costs, and the overall macroeconomic environment.

Nintendo chose to maintain its entry price of $449 last year despite the introduction of tariffs impacting production in China, Japan, and Vietnam. More recently, increased demand for AI data centers has driven up the prices of RAM and storage.”

However, rather than actually increasing the price of the machine, it is specified that Nintendo could choose to discontinue the console sold alone at $449 (โ‚ฌ469.99) and only market bundles at $499 (โ‚ฌ509.99).
