Bethesda Game Studios released Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition on Switch 2 this week at around €60. What’s more, this version just got a comparison published by the YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits.
At 30 frames per second, the game runs at 1440p (or 1080p in portable mode). The 40 FPS mode reaches native 1080p (720p in portable mode), and 60 FPS is dynamic 1080p (dynamic 720p in portable mode).
Of course, Fallout 4 benefits from many advantages and visual details when the frame rate is locked at 30 FPS. Note that in 40 FPS, the configuration is similar but with a lower resolution. As for 60 FPS, the blur effect is quite significant, which is why it is recommended to play in portable mode. Graphically, this last mode is similar to the PS4 version.
Overall, we observed little slowdown in our initial tests. The game runs smoothly! Finally, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition does not support mouse controls or the Switch 2 gyroscope.
