Amazon wants to rewrite the script of the Mass Effect series to make it appealing to non-gamers

First mentioned last November by the franchise’s executive producer Mike Gamble, the Mass Effect TV series is currently in the writing phase. It is expected to receive the green light from Amazon to begin production soon.

According to a report published by The Ankler, the trend suggesting that an original script would be prioritized for the adaptation is gaining momentum. Furthermore, Peter Friedlander, who was recently appointed Head of Global TV at Amazon MGM Studios, has reportedly requested a rewrite to make the series “more appealing to non-gamers”.

The project is described as an “extremely expensive drama series”, and its broadcast is not yet fully guaranteed.

This is an interesting direction for the Mass Effect series! It will be intriguing to see how they adapt the story to reach a broader audience while still capturing the essence of the original. Looking forward to more updates on this project!
