Retro games, a metroidvania classic, and a pair of demos from Capcom are on Switch 2 now.

Nintendo’s first Direct of 2026 showed off a long lineup of third-party games coming to the Switch and Switch 2 this year, with previously announced heavy hitters like Resident Evil Requiem and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle making appearances. While many of these games are available for preorder now, a few other titles and demos launched today, including two retro console games and a beloved metroidvania.

Console Archives Cool Boarders (Switch 2)

Kicking off Hamster Corporation’s Console Archives collection is Cool Boarders, a snowboarding game originally published by Sony for the first PlayStation in 1996. The title spawned many sequels, but the series was lost to the late 1990s and early 2000s, with the last installment released in December 2000 for PS2. It’s unusual to see a Sony exclusive make it to a Nintendo platform, but a lot is possible with these retro re-releases.
Console Archives Ninja Gaiden 2: The Dark Sword of Chaos (Switch 2)

The second game in the classic Ninja Gaiden trilogy is also getting the Console Archives treatment from Hamster Corporation. The story follows Ryu Hayabusa fighting to stop the resurrection of a malevolent being. Interestingly enough, Ninja Gaiden 2 already made it to the Nintendo Classics library a couple of months ago, so Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can already play the game.
Hollow Knight — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Developer Team Cherry previously announced that Hollow Knight would be coming to Switch 2 with enhancements, and the studio shadowdropped the beloved metroidvania today. Sporting improved frame rates and resolution, the Switch 2 Edition arrives after the sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, made a huge splash in the scene. Hollow Knight on Switch 2 is a free upgrade for owners of the Switch 1 version.
Super Bomberman Collection (Switch and Switch 2)

Seven Bomberman games are now available as part of a massive collection. That’s a lot of Bomberman. The compilation includes previously unreleased English localizations of Super Bomberman 4 and Super Bomberman 5. Features include a boss rush mode, screen filters, and save states, while the Switch 2 version takes advantage of the platform’s GameShare functionality so three other friends can join the explosive fray.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection demo (Switch 2)

The third installment of the turn-based RPG spin-off series Monster Hunter Stories is launching on Switch 2 alongside other versions of the game, and you can try it right now through a demo. The story depicts a chaotic world in which monsters are nearing extinction, and players must take the role of characters searching for the truth behind an environmental disaster. The full game releases on March 13.
Pragmata demo (Switch 2)

Capcom is putting out a new IP in the form of Pragmata, a third-person action game that has players control space traveler Hugh Williams and android Diana simultaneously. The action follows them as they try to escape a research station on the Moon and make their way back to Earth. Running on the RE Engine, the Switch 2 version of Pragmata is technically impressive. The Pragmata “Sketchbook” demo is live now, and the full game, as well as a Diana amiibo, launches on April 24.
