Albert Penello, one of the key figures at Xbox, has passed away

Another death has struck the video game industry at the very end of December. We have learned of the passing of Albert Penello following a battle with cancer.

After working at Electronic Arts, Panello spent 18 years at Microsoft as marketing manager for the Xbox division. He was involved in promotional campaigns for the Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Kinect.

He left Microsoft in 2018 but recently served as a consultant for the American giant’s next console. Several of his former colleagues confirmed the news with tributes on social media.
