After Battlefield 6 commercial success, EA has laid off staff

In the ruthless video game industry, commercial success is not always enough to keep your job. Proof of this is Electronic Arts’ decision regarding the creators of Battlefield 6.

Despite selling more than 20 million copies of Battlefield 6 worldwide, EA has decided to lay off an unknown number of people across its Battlefield Studios division. The four studios (Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios) are affected but remain operational. Several divisions are involved in what appears to be a major restructuring of the group.

Post-launch support for Battlefield 6 will continue as normal.
