Wild Sheep Studio and publisher PQube have shared a new trailer and release target for Adorable Adventures – a game that absolutely lives up to its name! You will play as Boris, the curious baby boar who’s looking to reunite with his lost family, when Adorable Adventures launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC later this year – a Steam demo is available now.
How adorable is that? Boris has got separated from his family in a forest fire, but can set off to try and track them down. Boris will have to learn how to use his sense of smell to navigate – picking up scents of flowers, mushrooms, honeycomb and more – and have to start peeling away the strongest smells to pick out more subtle notes and find his brothers and sisters. He will be accompanied by the voiceover of park ranger Maxime, whose storytelling will adapt to what you do. You can also find journal entries from maxime’s journal and give Boris some accessories.
But he’s still a baby boar, and easily distracted. The game will also have time trial races, photography challenges, a spot of park tidying to do, and a local mystery to solve.
Wild Sheep Studio has form in this tone of game. The studio was originally founded to work on WILD with Michel Ancel and Ubisoft Paris in 2013, but after that game’s cancellation shifted to smaller games. Adorable Adventures has seen them head out from the studio to explore the Cévennes National Park, which is close to their base in Southern France, and take 3D scans of local plant life and ambient field recordings to recreate the forest atmosphere.
