Although the 2016 film clearly failed to live up to expectations, Assassin’s Creed will still get another chance at adaptation. This time, Netflix is working on a live-action series.
The website Deadlines reported this week that Australian actor Toby Wallace (Eden, Last Days) will be joining the cast of the famous series. We don’t yet know which character he will be playing, but he is expected to make recurring appearances.
Filming will begin in Italy next year. It remains to be seen whether this will be just one of many locations or if the series will focus on the Italian Renaissance, i.e., the Ezio trilogy.
It’s exciting to see Toby Wallace joining the cast of the Assassin’s Creed live-action series! It will be interesting to see how this new adaptation unfolds, especially after the mixed reception of the 2016 film. Looking forward to what they bring to the table!
