A discovery in the PlayStation Store files suggests that Sony is preparing a cross-buy option between the PS5 and PC. The information, first spotted on social media, was then verified by Dealabs and its well-known leaker billbil-kun.
Unprecedented symbols were found in the CSS files of the official website, including a label βcrossbuy-tagβ associated with the mention βPS5/PC games.β By reproducing the code, Dealabs confirmed that the symbol does indeed exist and corresponds to an icon already visible on certain internal pages of the Store.
If confirmed, this system would work like the Xbox/PC ecosystem, where a game purchased on one platform can be downloaded on the other at no additional cost. Sony has not yet commented on the leak, but this development would be in line with its strategy of opening up to PC, which began with the releases of Horizon, God of War, and Spider-Man. PS5/PC cross-buy could mark a new step in this integration.
