A Super Metroid remake could be coming to Switch 2

There’s quite a lot going on at Nintendo this year. In fact, the company appears to be working on several major projects, such as a new Star Fox and a remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

This information was shared by renowned insider NateTheHate in a podcast. However, the day before the episode aired, a user had shared exactly the same details along with an additional piece of information.

The user, who goes by the name @malo932, had already mentioned these projects alongside a remake of Super Metroid. According to him, the release of this new version of the 2D action-adventure game, originally launched in 1994 on the SNES, is “imminent”. It is reportedly being developed by the Spanish studio MercurySteam, the team behind Metroid: Samus Returns and Metroid Dread.

Finally, he also stated that a new Wario Land could be released in 2027. All of this should, of course, be taken with a grain of salt.
