A Saudi investment fund has acquired a stake in Capcom

Electronic Gaming Development Company (EGDC) is an investment firm based in Saudi Arabia. It has owned SNK Corporation (Fatal Fury, King of Fighters) since 2022.

Today, the website GameBiz revealed that EGDC now holds a 5.03% stake in Capcom through the acquisition of 26,788,500 shares. The company stated that this is a “pure investment” aimed at generating profits through capital gains or dividends.

As such, EGDC is not expected to interfere in Capcom’s strategic or creative decisions.
