After the disastrous reboot in August 2022 and the closure of Volition, all signs pointed to the Saints Row IP getting buried. However, a new project is apparently being discussed at PLAION (the license owner).
On Reddit, Chris Stockman, who was the director of the first game released in 2006, revealed that he had been approached by a publisher with the aim of providing a pitch for a Saints Row reboot. He then added that “my dreams for this game have become much more than just dreams!”, suggesting that development of the game could start soon.
Stockman also clarified that this is not a VR game. It remains to be seen whether this announcement will end up turning into something concrete.
