It was through a fascinating journalistic investigation that the website Game File revealed the existence of a rather unexpected project. The article in question mainly focuses on the cancellation of the Restored Content DLC planned for the Switch version of STAR WARS Knights of the Old Republic II.
In June 2022, Aspyr launched a port of the famous RPG originally developed by Obsidian on the Nintendo console. During the promotional campaign, the studio also promised to include the Restored Content DLC. This is actually a mod that contains a more in-depth ending to the game thanks to dialogues, cut scenes, and a complete side adventure. These elements were found in the game’s code and restored by modders in 2009.
Unfortunately, Disney and Lucasfilm Games opposed this addition due to a lack of information about the modder’s identity. The American giant feared that it would face a complex legal situation since it could not credit the person or persons behind this content. In June 2023, Aspyr confirmed that the DLC would not be released. A player had filed a complaint for false advertising.
Furthermore, in the documents relating to this case that Game File was able to consult, reference is made to a game with the code name Juliet. This is a complete, modern remake of STAR WARS Knights of the Old Republic II. It was in development alongside KOTOR 1 until at least March 2025. Today, no one knows whether production is continuing or whether the project has been canceled.

This sounds like an exciting development for fans of the franchise! It’s always interesting to see classic games getting a fresh perspective. Looking forward to hearing more about it!
