An Ubisoft leak that has sprung this morning has proven two things: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still happening, and it might not be what fans remember.
A Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake leak revealed almost ten minutes of internal presentation this morning, with early gameplay shown, the revealed expansion of Farah’s role, and a modern combat system. As of this posting, the leaked video that was shared on YouTube this morning has been taken down (and was shared on Reddit), but fans on the forum remember.

As reported by The Game Post, a ten-minute video created in 2024 as an internal presentation for Ubisoft employees was leaked onto the YouTube platform, and shortly after, Ubisoft had it pulled down due to copyright. According to TGP, the video revealed mocap footage, varied screenshots from the game’s alpha, and more development materials behind the curtain. The footage contained in the leak was allegedly captured in 2024, but the video on the YouTube channel was uploaded just this morning.
The presentation showcases Farah’s character and her growth in the remake. She’s no longer just a support character in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, and she comes equipped with a bow to help out and protect herself. The presentation mentions players can “parkour a world rebuilt from the ground up, expanded with 2 new locations,” meaning the Remake will have two locations not seen in the Sands of Time before.
The leak also revealed that new time-controlling powers will be added to the Prince’s tool belt, including a way to freeze enemies in time, and combat has received a notable overhaul. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has gone through an arduous development cycle, with many delays and radio silence from Ubisoft, culminating in the company promising fans it’s still coming at an Ubisoft Forward.

Considering the leak shown this morning is from 2024, it remains to be seen how much of the retooled gameplay will make it into the final Remake, so fans should wait until an official announcement is made before jumping to any conclusions.
