Warner Bros. and Legendary have announced A Minecraft Movie 2. The sequel is set to hit theaters on July 23, 2027. That’s a couple months after the live-action The Legend of Zelda movie comes out.
Assuming the schedules hold, A Minecraft Movie 2 will come to theaters on the same day that The Simpsons Movie 2 arrives in July 2027.
The announcement of the sequel is no surprise at all. The original film, released in April 2025, made more than $950 million worldwide. It’s the No. 2 highest-grossing video game movie of all time, and the No. 69 highest-grossing movie of all time for all films ever released.
