A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Could Run For 10 Seasons, Longer Than Game of Thrones

The latest Game of Thronesprequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms premieres on January 18, 2026, but the series is already facing a big problem: George R.R. Martin has only written three Dunk and Egg books. Unlike Game of Thrones which had five books of story to work with before David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were forced to go off of George R.R. Martin’s outlines for The Winds of Winterand A Dream of Spring, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will catch up to its source material at the end of Season 3.
