Kadokawa, a Japanese entertainment company that owns the studio FromSoftware, has welcomed a new major shareholder.
Oasis Management Company, an international hedge fund management firm based in Hong Kong, purchased over 13 million shares of Kadokawa on March 19. It now holds 8.86% of the company, making it a major shareholder. This is a “major financing transaction” aimed at increasing returns for shareholders.
As such, there should be no tangible impact on players of FromSoftware titles.
