A former Halo Studios employee accuses the company of illegal acts

With Halo Campaign Evolved set to release later this year, a major controversy has just hit Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries). A former developer at the company has accused it of “numerous unethical and/or illegal acts”.

These events, which allegedly took place between January 2024 and June 2025, were reported on LinkedIn by Glenn Israel, who served as art director at the studio for over 15 years. He claims to have been a direct witness to and victim of serious misconduct by senior company executives.

Israel speaks of blacklisting, fraud, widespread favoritism, and multiple harassment campaigns. All of this was done with the aim of firing employees deemed “undesirable”. Furthermore, filing several complaints with Microsoft’s human resources department reportedly led to threats of retaliation, and a four-day harassment campaign allegedly took place to “fabricate a case” justifying the developer’s dismissal.

In his two posts, Glenn Israel discusses various scenarios and even goes so far as to point the finger at Microsoft, accusing the multinational of regularly resorting to layoffs to “get rid of employees who have filed complaints”. He also mentions the “mismanagement” of Halo Campaign Evolved, which allegedly allowed the art team under Israel’s leadership to be temporarily reassigned to work on another project so that he could be fired, with his role being described as “redundant”.
