Even if Electronic Arts hasn’t announced sales numbers, Battlefield 6 is an unmitigated success for the publisher based on Steam numbers alone. It reached 747,440 peak concurrent players hours after launch, which is far higher than the previous record holder, Battlefield 5.
However, for those who pre-ordered via the EA App, it was an exercise in frustration since a bug prevented access. The publisher revealed that an “outage” on the app was responsible, and a fix has since been rolled out. As compensation, all EA App owners will receive 12 Hardware and 12 Career 60-Minute Boosters to help catch up to other players.
But that’s not all, as they’ll also gain access to the Battle Pass when Season 1 starts later this month. If you pre-ordered the Phantom Edition, which contains the same, then you’ll receive Season 2’s Battle Pass. EA clarified that this is “a single Battle Pass reward, but Phantom Edition includes Battlefield Pro, so we moved the reward out to accommodate.”
Available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, Battlefield 6 has received strong reviews from critics for its multiplayer (less so for its campaign). Check out our impressions here.
