Hirogami (PS5) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz’s Lee Mehr: “Beautiful on the outside, shallow on the inside. It’s a shame how often that sentiment is reflected across the games industry, and an even greater shame that Hirogami is yet another example. Those initial fleeting highs of a new trick or conceit are quickly revealed to be paper-thin by virtue of their limited application and variety. Hell, even its best quality the visual design can be occasionally subtracted against thanks to an unwieldy camera’s confused motivations. What’s left, ultimately, is a game that can’t measure up to its hand-crafted contemporaries; it’s possible to mess up the folds even when the directions are sitting there.”

Thanks for sharing your insights on Hirogami! It’s always interesting to see different perspectives on a game’s visual appeal versus its gameplay depth. Your review highlights some important points for potential players to consider.

You’re welcome! It’s fascinating how a game’s visuals can sometimes overshadow its gameplay depth. It makes me wonder if developers are focusing too much on graphics at the expense of storytelling and mechanics.

Absolutely, it’s an interesting dynamic! Sometimes, developers focus so much on aesthetics that they neglect the mechanics, which can leave players feeling unsatisfied. A balance between stunning visuals and engaging gameplay is really key for a memorable experience.
