The next Xbox is also expected to be released in 2027

Despite rumors of its possible cancellation, the future Xbox console is expected to see the light of day. And as is often the case, Microsoft and Sony are expected to strike at the same time.

On YouTube, the usually well-informed “Moore’s Law Is Dead” has stated that the American manufacturer’s next machine will be released in 2027. The PS6 is also rumored to be coming out in the same year. Microsoft has reportedly already mentioned a 2027 launch for its new Xbox to several partners.

In addition, the console is expected to be equipped with the AMD Magnus APU, whose architecture includes a first 144 mm² chiplet with a TSMC N3P node and a second 264 mm² chiplet with a TSMC N3C or N3P node.

The GPU section includes 68 CU RDNA5 compute units, four shader engines, and at least 24 MB of L2 cache. As for the processor, it benefits from a Zen 6 architecture with up to three Zen 6 cores (faster than the Orion cores in the PS6) + 8 Zen 6c cores and a shared 12 MB L3 cache.

Specifications also include a 192-bit memory bus, 48 GB of GDDR7 RAM, and a thermal envelope of 250 W to 350 W (60 to 70% more than the PS6). Finally, the NPU architecture is said to be 110 TOPS (at 6 W) or 46 TOPS (at 1.2 W), and AI performance (TOPS) is said to be 110 TOPS (at 6 W) or 46 TOPS (at 1.2 W).
