Sony has stealth dropped a new PS5 feature update that adds a nifty animated theme for the Welcome Hub. We don’t get new backgrounds from Sony very often, so it’s nice to see a notification for a new one once in a blue moon. Players can always make their own backgrounds, but unfortunately, animated themes can only be added by Sony.
New PS5 feature update adds Battlefield 6 animated theme just in time for launch
Back to the Welcome Hub update. Sony added a Battlefield 6 animated background just in time for the game’s launch today. For those not abreast with things, Sony now has a marketing deal for Battlefield 6 following Microsoft’s acquisition of the Call of Duty franchise.
That said, game themes are added with or without marketing deals, albeit rarely.
Battlefield 6 background, pictured below, shows smoke billowing behind the soldier. Adding a nice touch to it is a warplane seen flying across the screen.
After a lengthy wait, Battlefield 6 is out today. We’ve already reviewed the game and came away impressed.
It remains to be seen if the EA shooter will finally manage to put a dent in the Call of Duty market or not.
