Obsidian Entertainment’s sequel to 2019’s The Outer Worlds is out soon, and players on Xbox Series X/S and PC (via the Microsoft Store) can now pre-load. As reported by XboxEra, it’s about 79.49 GB on console and 77.30 GB on PC, though the total installation size for the latter could end up larger per Steam (about 110 GB).
While this doesn’t quite mean the first-person shooter/RPG has gone gold (at least until Obsidian officially says so), it looks to be on track for launch on October 29th. The Outer Worlds 2 sees players as an Earth Directorate agent, venturing to the Arcadia system to investigate some dangerous rifts. They’ll run into three new factions – Auntie’s Choice, The Order of the Ascendant and The Protectorate – who could be your new best friends or worst enemies based on the choices made.
The Outer Worlds 2 offers new companions, each with their own respective arcs (and who won’t always agree with your decisions) and bigger worlds than the original. The first proper biome, Paradise Island, is estimated to offer over a dozen hours of content depending on how thoroughly one explores it.
