ARC Raiders Doesn’t Support Console-Only Crossplay

As much hype as Battlefield 6 has been generating, there’s a lot of anticipation for Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders. Launching on October 30th for $39.99 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, the extraction shooter has been a long time coming, especially after the positive technical test.

Unfortunately, there’s bad news when it comes to cross-play. As revealed on the official Discord’s FAQ, there is no console-only cross-play, so turning it off will match players on the same console together. Those worried about imbalances when dealing with PC players also can’t rely on mouse and keyboard, since it won’t be supported on consoles at launch.

Of course, cheaters can also be an issue, though Embark Studios has done a reasonable job dealing with them thus far. A cross-platform matchmaking solution akin to Battlefield 6 would have been preferable, though.

ARC Raiders will host a server slam on October 17th for all platforms, providing a taste of cross-play in action. Head here for more details.
